At age 15 Willy Amrod's band, Brand X, was one of the first signings by Seymour Stein to Sire Records. Brand X was the support act for Janis Joplin. He went on to play bass with Rick Danko and has appeared with The J Giles Band, Roomful of Blues, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, The Band, The Beaver Brown Band, and NRBQ. His best known album, the timeless, "Children of The Earth", features The JB Horns (Fred Wesley, Maceo Parker, Pee Wee Ellis).
