LIBRA’S ORNAMENTAL AUTUMNAL TEMPERAMENT
Polychromatic kaleidoscopic foliage from the maple
glistens in the Libra Sun amidst a forest of evergreen.
The winds are stronger and these gusts will enable
the painted leaves to tumble as chipmunks convene
scurrying across the roundabout to shovel out their burrow.
Flying squirrels glide smoothly through the air unseen
as their acorns are saved with bulging cheeks. They are thorough
with their methodology as they fly from branch to branch and then scamper.
Nature bursts with an uncontrollably boisterous vitality
as sunrays pierce the overcast skies letting no briskness hamper
our world of ornithology which is cantillating with a rambunctious musicality
soaring southward in swarms as their course is sublime and serene.
This morning’s texture oozes forth with a super moon setting over yonder.
Its orangeness is flamboyant like a gigantically ripened pumpkin
and the sunrise accompanies the pictorial landscape as I ponder.
I grapple for a phrase to describe this moment of frozen time wherein
I’m drifting into a state of daydreams freed from tribulation as I do wander
through the forest collecting luscious pine cones consumed in joviality.
Suddenly there arrives a welcomed clearing next to a quiescent ravine
which I cautiously tread upon finding the path of an industrious porcupine
making its winter’s nest beneath an oak tree’s soothing shadows.
At an intersection on the walkways I discover a throng of laughing children
carving carefully, meticulously forming imaginative jack o’ lanterns.
As the sunlight reflects once again I marvel at autumn’s beauty reclined
absorbing the passing cirrocumulus clouds as they form patterns
and colors appear near sunset from a sumptuous pinkrose to a startling crimson.
As night begins to fall the ghouls and goblins do gather. They hallow
their favorite fairy who’s hiding from imps and gnomes hoping to amend
her relations of conjecture with a mysterious dwarf from Saturn.
The harvest moon does gently rise illuminating the scenery so serpentine
winding through the midnight fog as its rays mingle to follow
the nocturnal atmosphere awakening the Milky Way’s springing Dolphin.
I fall deep into a slumber dreaming of the sensations I have encountered enshrined
beneath a cozy hut in my sleeping bag grinning as I spur my divine origin.
The dawn then returns bringing the morning dew to the breathtaking camellia
opening to greet the strolling angels of morning who sing hallelujah.
The blossoming marigolds and dahlias ornament the environment
vibrating their elegance like the expectations of this beatific scenario.
Chrysanthemums burst as the prismatic gourdes decorate the fields
as David Austin’s Roses glimmer titillating our senses like an impresario.
Cerelia, our autumnal Greek Goddess will ease our transitional time which yields
to Jack Frost’s intricate sketches upon our window frame giving euphoria
to the coming twilight of winter opening many secrets which were concealed.
We then rejoice during this attractive season of coloristic depictions revealed
to us as we reminisce our summer’s pleasures enjoying this cooler temperament.
Appreciating these moments of silent reflection I view inwardly to accept genuine
sentiments of gratefulness as I journey through my own personal memorabilia.
