THOSE CAPITAL BLUES
I never got no proper education
My teachers threw me outta class
The principal rudely evicted me
and wacked wickedly on my naked ass.
I just was never really accepted
and never received any appreciation
I‘m illiterate, loathed and fully rejected
so only troublemaking excited me.
Pulling pranks on the richer girls
Dipping their pigtails in a glass
full of worms and turpentine
which made their lovely locks curl.
I was a mischief maker
I was always suspected
‘cos of all my wilder antics.
They really fired up and ignited me.
No reason at all to panic
I could easily undermine
the authorities with my tactics.
Going off to the local zoo
With the monkeys I’ve reunited
Now however I am no longer younger
So it is time to steal and plunder.
Therefore I’ll clearly explain to you
what is left for me to twist and do.
Firstly I will scream like thunder
and on some tobacco I will chew.
So is the way of fighting off hunger
while I’m shakin’ my big wazoo.
Got my troubles, got a reason to whine
Got my pennies standin’ on the soup line
Got no welfare, got holes in my shoes
So pissed I got those Capital Blues.
They’re laughin’ at me and I’m so paranoid
I hope the congressmen have got enough toys.
I’m rattled out in my ol’ blue jeans
My kids are all growin’ out of their teens
Inflated
Belated
I’ve got those Capital blues
I’m so rowdy gonna burn down town hall
They took my livelihood and that’s not all
I’m poorer than I ever have been
It’s so sickly and a goddamn sin
All the Roll Royce’s and the stretch limousines
I think it’s ugly and it’s quite obscene
Got no welfare, got holes in my shoes
So pissed I got those Capital Blues.
Tryin’ to crawl out of this hole
Ain’t so easy when you’re crooked and old
Too proud to beg gotta find a new scene
Hopin’ angels gonna soon intervene
Inflated
Belated
I’ve got those Capital blues
When I was born I had a bad deck of cards
Since then the world did always discard
my wishes to be a part of the human race
I am a fallen angel left in disgrace.
As a kid I played the crackpot
To get some cool attention
I then tried to sell pot
and ended up sittin’ in detention.
Never was given any dignity
and all I got now is depression.
Lost my chance for integrity
Now I’m a victim of repression.
Got no welfare, got holes in my shoes
So pissed I got those Capital Blues.
Tryin’ to crawl out of this hole
Ain’t so easy when you’re crooked and old
Too proud to beg gotta find a new scene
Hopin’ angels gonna soon intervene
Inflated
Belated
I’ve got those Capital blues.
